Lucie Tučná

She graduated from the private Art Studies of Textile Techniques in Prague in 1981.

In 1982, she finished her studies of conservation textile materials and ceramics in Brno.

From 1982 until 1992 she acted as a lecturer in SKKS Conservatory in Prague, Department of Textile (blueprint, block printing, patchwork and textile application, textile and fashion technology). She participated in drafting the scripts for study (traditional crafts, history of traditional textile techniques, printing and dying of fabrics, etc. Since 1982, she has been acting as a freelance fashion designer.

From 1987 to 1989 she designed the collections for young people for small fashion factories, and from 1984 to 1992 she cooperated with many Czech Fashion Magazines. From 1985 to 1990 she designed the costumes for Czech singers and small theater performances. Since 1980, she has been designing the author´s blueprint and owns the only blueprint studio in Bohemia. She has presented lectures on the topic of blueprint and prints on fabrics, its history and application in contemporary fashion and interior decoration. From 1981 to 1987 she took part at the Bertramka Fashion Shows. Since 1997, she has been managing the fashion gallery Original Moda together with Jiřina Pivoňková focusing on textile art, fashion, tapestry and other branches of art and crafts products. From 2010 leads Fashion and Costume Studios at Prague Institute (NCSU).

Since 1981 she has arranged many solo exhibitions in Prague, Jindříchův Hradec, Zlín, Karlštejn, and has participated in many exhibitions abroad – Munich – Germany , Padua – Italy, Antwerp and Bremen – Belgium, Marienstadt – Sweden, Bruxelles – Belgium.

In 1982 was awarded a silver medal for young fashion designers in Liberec and in 1992 she has received an honorable mention of Chateau Musee de Chassy – France at the patchwork exhibition “the 500´s anniversary of the discovery of America”.

Her work is represented in the collections of Uměleckoprůmyslové museum (Museum of Decorative Arts) in Prague and Municipal Museum in Jílové u Prahy.
