PY 125: Astronomy Laboratory

The course PY 123: Stellar and Galactic Astronomy is accompanied by PY 125: Astronomy Laboratory where students learn the basics about the light, and electromagnetic radiation in general, as well as about the sky and astronomical instruments from the smallest to the largest telescopes, not forgetting about the oldest tool for celestial observation – our eyes. A visit of the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the largest institute of astronomy in the Czech Republic, and its astronomical observatory in Ondřejov (25 miles from Prague) will be part of the Laboratory.
