Andrea Tachezy

AndreaAndrea Tachezy received a Master degree in 1994 at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design – UMPRUM, where she studied in the textile design and film and TV graphics.

She is a member of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists HOLLAR Prague

She works as a freelance illustrator since she graduated. In the years 2004 – 2011 she was a senior lecturer at the University of Hradec Králové – Textile design studio and 2005-2006 at the University in Liberec – Textile design.

Since the year 1994 she has exhibited her works in Czech Republic and abroad as well.

In the year 2000 she has got a Scholarship of Ministery of Culture Czech Republic in Egon Schiele Center in Český Krumlov and in 2002 a scholarship for graphic artists in Oberpfalzer Kunstlerhaus Schwandorf-fronberg.

Currently, she is most occupated with illustration for children’s books. She illustrated more than twenty books and has got awards from the Czech publishers Albatros and Mladá fronta in the years 2008, 2011, 2012.

Her book Ferdinande! Was awarded by the Czech section of IBBY.
